
π₯ Besan Chilla (Savory Gram Flour Pancake)
A quick, protein-rich Indian breakfast/snack made with besan (gram flour). Perfect for busy mornings and great for weight management.
π Ingredients (Serves 2β3)
- 1 cup besan (gram flour)
- Β½ tsp ajwain (carom seeds)
- Β½ tsp cumin seeds
- ΒΌ tsp turmeric
- Β½ tsp red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- Water (to make smooth batter)
Vegetables (finely chopped):
- ΒΌ cup onion
- ΒΌ cup tomato (remove seeds)
- ΒΌ cup capsicum
- 2 tbsp coriander leaves
- Optional: grated carrot, spinach, paneer
Oil or ghee for cooking
π©βπ³ Method
- Make batter
In a bowl, mix besan, salt, turmeric, chilli powder, ajwain, cumin.
Add water gradually and whisk to make a smooth, lump-free batter (medium consistency). - Add vegetables
Mix in chopped vegetables and coriander. - Cook chilla
- Heat a non-stick pan.
- Pour a ladle of batter and spread gently in circular motion.
- Drizzle a few drops of oil around edges.
- Cook on medium flame until golden brown.
- Flip and cook other side.
- Serve hot.

- Mint chutney
- coconut chutney
- tomato onion chutyne
