For vegetables (finely chopped):

Oil or ghee for cooking

  1. Soak dal – Wash and soak moong dal for 3–4 hours.
  2. Grind – Drain and grind with ginger, green chilli, turmeric, salt, and little water into a smooth batter (like dosa batter but slightly thicker).
  3. Add cumin – Mix cumin seeds into the batter.
  4. Prepare cheela
    • Heat a non-stick pan.
    • Pour a ladle of batter and spread gently in circular motion.
    • Sprinkle chopped vegetables on top and press lightly.
    • Drizzle a few drops of oil around edges.
  5. Cook – Cook on medium flame until golden, flip and cook other side.
  6. Serve hot.
